Patriot Acura Supports Falmouth Food Pantry Through Community Giving Initiative
At Patriot Acura, we believe strong communities are built through compassion, service, and consistent support for those in need. Through our ongoing Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares program, we proudly partner with local organizations making a direct and meaningful impact across southern Maine.
In October 2025, we were honored to support the Falmouth Food Pantry (FFP), a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity through an innovative and highly personalized approach to food distribution.
Serving Families Across Southern Maine
Founded in 2008, the Falmouth Food Pantry now serves an average of 200 families—approximately 800 individuals—across Falmouth, Portland, and Westbrook.
What makes FFP unique is its commitment to delivering food directly to those in need, including individuals who are homebound, disabled, or working long hours.
Rather than requiring in-person pickup, the pantry provides home deliveries, ensuring accessibility and dignity for every recipient.
A Personalized Approach to Food Assistance
During our visit to the pantry, located in the former Falmouth Police Station next to Town Hall, we met with Executive Director and founder Dorothy Blanchette.
We saw firsthand how carefully prepared food boxes are assembled by volunteers:
- Nonperishable staples are packed into each box
- Fresh items such as meat, eggs, and produce are added
- Deliveries are customized based on household needs
This flexible, volunteer-led system ensures that every family receives balanced and appropriate support.
Hands-On Community Support
While visiting, the Patriot Acura team had the opportunity to assist volunteers by helping load vehicles preparing for deliveries. It was a small but meaningful way to support the pantry’s daily operations and witness the care that goes into every delivery.
The dedication of the volunteers and staff was evident in every step of the process.
Patriot Acura’s Contribution
As part of our Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares initiative, Patriot Acura and Patriot Subaru proudly donated $2,250 to the Falmouth Food Pantry in October 2025.
This contribution helps support ongoing food purchasing, delivery logistics, and the pantry’s ability to serve families throughout the region.

The Falmouth Food Pantry is powered entirely by volunteers, making its impact even more remarkable. Their work ensures that individuals and families facing food insecurity receive consistent, reliable, and dignified support.
We are grateful to Dorothy Blanchette and her entire team for their leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the community.
