November 2025: WinterKids
Patriot Acura Supports WinterKids Through Community Giving Initiative
At Patriot Acura, we believe that a healthy community starts with active, engaged, and inspired children. Through our ongoing Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares program, we proudly partner with organizations that support youth development, education, and wellbeing across Maine.
In November 2025, we were honored to support WinterKids, a Westbrook-based nonprofit dedicated to helping children embrace outdoor learning and play during Maine’s winter months.
Encouraging Kids to Get Outside and Stay Active
WinterKids has spent 25 years helping children experience the physical, emotional, and educational benefits of outdoor winter activity. Their programs are designed to encourage movement, curiosity, and confidence—even in the coldest months of the year.
Their mission focuses on strengthening both body and mind by helping kids:
- Stay active during winter months
- Build confidence through outdoor play
- Engage in hands-on learning experiences
- Develop lifelong healthy habits
Behind the Scenes at WinterKids
During our November visit to WinterKids in Westbrook, associates from Patriot Acura and Patriot Subaru were given a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the upcoming season.
We saw stacks of “boxes of fun” ready for shipment to schools across Maine. These boxes contain program materials and guides designed to help educators bring outdoor learning and play into the classroom experience.
It was clear that every box represents an opportunity for children to learn, explore, and stay active throughout the winter.
Patriot Acura’s Contribution
As part of our Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares initiative, Patriot Acura and Patriot Subaru proudly donated $2,375 to WinterKids in November 2025.
This donation comes at a meaningful time as WinterKids celebrates its 25th Anniversary, helping support expanded programming and continued outreach to schools across Maine.
Supporting Healthy, Active Childhoods
WinterKids plays a vital role in helping children develop a positive relationship with winter. Instead of staying indoors, students are encouraged to explore, move, and learn in outdoor environments—even during the colder months.
Their programs strengthen not only physical health, but also creativity, resilience, and teamwork.
