May 2026: The Ecology School
Patriot Acura Supports The Ecology School
At Patriot Acura, we believe strong communities are built through education, environmental stewardship, and meaningful connections with the world around us. Through our ongoing Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares initiative, we proudly support organizations that inspire learning, sustainability, and community engagement across Maine.
In May 2026, Patriot Auto Group was honored to partner with The Ecology School, an organization dedicated to immersive environmental education and hands-on learning experiences for children and adults alike.
Learning Through Nature and Sustainability
During our visit, the team at The Ecology School welcomed Patriot associates for a tour of their beautiful campus, which was in full early-summer bloom.
We learned more about the school’s mission and philosophy of immersive education – encouraging students and visitors to actively engage with the natural world through curiosity, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
Their programs help participants:
- Explore real ecosystems firsthand
- Learn sustainable practices through interactive activities
- Build environmental awareness and responsibility
- Connect science, nature, and community through experiential learning
By combining education with outdoor experiences, The Ecology School creates opportunities for people of all ages to better understand and appreciate the environment.
Giving Back Through Volunteer Work
As part of the visit, several Patriot Auto Group associates participated in The Ecology School’s volunteer weekend activities alongside Farm Manager Marguerite Wiser.
Working together in the gardens, our team helped with seasonal weeding and maintenance while enjoying the opportunity to contribute directly to the school’s mission and growing spaces.
Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to meet with President & CEO Drew Dumsch and Director of Advancement Aviva Shaw, who shared insight into the organization’s goals, programs, and long-term vision.
Supporting Environmental Education in Maine
At Patriot Acura, we recognize the importance of organizations that encourage learning through creativity, exploration, and real-world experiences.
The Ecology School’s work helps children and adults alike build a deeper connection to nature while developing lifelong skills related to sustainability, science, and environmental responsibility.
We are proud to support their mission and help raise awareness of the incredible impact they are making throughout Maine.
Thank you so much to Drew Dumsch, Aviva Shaw and the entire team at The Ecology School for welcoming us, and thank you to Cullen Jackson, Sara Elsberry, Rossy Quinones, Rosina Pizzarella, Dan Walker, Matt Rieders, Jay Tracy, Dakota McGuire, Carter Sturmer, Naz Alizada, and Jacob Fish from the Patriot Team for their amazing participation throughout the day.
