Patriot Acura Supports the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland Through Community Giving
At Patriot Acura, we believe that strong communities are built through compassion, connection, and consistent support for local organizations. Through our ongoing Patriot Cares, Patriot Shares initiative, we proudly partner with nonprofits that make a meaningful difference in people’s—and animals’—lives.
For February 2026, we were honored to support the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP), a leading animal welfare organization dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption services across southern Maine.
Supporting Animal Welfare in Greater Portland
The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland plays a vital role in the community by providing shelter and care for thousands of animals each year. Their work extends beyond adoption services, offering humane education programs and community resources that promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare awareness.
Their commitment ensures that every animal receives the care, attention, and opportunity they deserve to find a loving home.
Meeting Local Stars: Lobster Roll & Auggie
As part of our February initiative, the Patriot Auto Group team had the opportunity to visit ARLGP and take part in their Puppy Bowl XXII celebrations. We even had the chance to meet two very special alumni—Lobster Roll and Auggie—who gained local fame as part of the national Puppy Bowl event.
These moments helped highlight the joy and personality that ARLGP brings to animal rescue and adoption, while showcasing the incredible success stories that come out of their programs.
A Behind-the-Scenes Look at ARLGP
During our visit, our team participated in an educational tour of the facility led by Julie Poulin and Elsa Bertlesman. This experience provided valuable insight into the organization’s daily operations, including their Humane Education and Resource Programs.
We came away with a deeper appreciation for the dedication, compassion, and hard work that goes into caring for every animal that comes through their doors.
Community Support in Action
Thanks to the engagement from our community through our Facebook campaign, Patriot Acura and Patriot Subaru were also proud to contribute several 35-pound bags of dog food to support ARLGP’s ongoing needs.
This contribution is just one example of how small acts—when combined with community support—can make a meaningful impact on local organizations.
