Patriot Acura Supports Southern Maine Agency on Aging Through Community Giving Initiative
At Patriot Acura, we believe supporting our community means showing up for people at every stage of life. Through our 12 Weeks of Giving program, we partner with local organizations that provide essential services and meaningful support to those who need it most.
In February 2025, we were proud to recognize the Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA) for their incredible work empowering older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers across the region.
Supporting Seniors and Caregivers in Southern Maine
The Southern Maine Agency on Aging plays a vital role in helping older adults live independently and with dignity. Their mission centers on providing resources, services, and information that allow individuals and their families to navigate the challenges of aging with confidence.
From daily enrichment activities to critical support services, SMAA creates a strong sense of community while addressing real, everyday needs.
A Closer Look at SMAA’s Impact
During our visit to SMAA’s facility in Biddeford, our team had the opportunity to meet with Community Resource Manager Ashley Perrone and learn more about the organization’s wide-ranging programs.
SMAA offers a variety of daily activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social well-being, including:
- Exercise and wellness programs
- Art, music, and creative activities
- Baking and social engagement
- Cognitive “brain games”
Beyond these activities, SMAA provides critical support services such as:
- Nutritional guidance and meal programs
- Medicare counseling and financial organization assistance
- Housing and assisted living guidance
- In-home care and transportation services
- Fuel assistance and legal resources
These programs ensure that older Mainers—and their families—have access to the tools and support systems they need to thrive.
Patriot Acura’s Contribution
As part of our February 2025 12 Weeks of Giving initiative, Patriot Acura donated $675, funded through a percentage of vehicle sales during the first week of the month.
While financial contributions are important, our goal is also to raise awareness and help connect more families with the valuable services SMAA provides.
