Patriot Acura Supports Scarborough Land Trust Through Community Giving Initiative
At Patriot Acura, our commitment to the community extends beyond people—it includes protecting the natural spaces that make Scarborough such a special place to live and work. Through our 12 Weeks of Giving program, we proudly support organizations dedicated to preserving the environment and enhancing quality of life.
In April 2025, we were honored to partner with the Scarborough Land Trust, an organization focused on conserving local land, protecting wildlife habitats, and providing accessible outdoor spaces for the community.
Preserving Scarborough’s Natural Beauty
As plans for Patriot Acura’s facility were underway, we quickly learned how deeply the town of Scarborough values its natural landscapes—from marshes and woodlands to open conservation areas.
The Scarborough Land Trust has been at the forefront of these efforts since 1977, conserving more than 1,800 acres of land to date. Their work ensures that these spaces remain protected for future generations while remaining accessible to the public.
Currently, the Trust manages seven properties that offer:
- Public access and maintained trails
- Designated parking areas
- Opportunities for outdoor recreation and education
Their ongoing efforts also include the conservation, protection, and restoration of the Scarborough Marsh—one of the region’s most important natural resources.
A Visit to Warren Woods
Our team had the opportunity to visit the Warren Woods trailhead, one of the beautiful properties managed by the Trust. There, we met with Executive Director Andrew Mackie, Development Director Lisa Detweiller, and Board Member Lin Higgins.
During our visit, we learned more about the Trust’s mission, long-term conservation strategy, and the wide range of programs they offer to engage the community.
From educational workshops to hands-on cleanup and restoration projects, the Scarborough Land Trust plays a vital role in connecting people with nature while promoting environmental stewardship.
Patriot Acura’s Contribution
As part of our April 2025 12 Weeks of Giving initiative, Patriot Acura proudly presented a donation of $575, funded through a percentage of vehicle sales during the first week of the month.
In addition to this contribution, we were excited to help raise awareness for the Trust’s mission through our website and social media platforms.
Committed to Sustainability and Community
At Patriot Acura, we believe in building responsibly and supporting sustainable initiatives. We worked closely with the town of Scarborough during the development of our 22-acre property, and we continue to prioritize environmental awareness in our operations.
Supporting the Scarborough Land Trust is a natural extension of that commitment.
